Use 5w-30 and you'll eliminate consumption issues and have a quieter engine. If you're in a high ambient market consider 10w-30.
No, Either 0w-30, maybe 10w-30 probably should be fine. But not -20s. Read manual, as each car has different spec. phantomx20. • 8 mo. ago. It would be fine to use it. 5w20 is better for cold climates whereas 5w30 is better for hotter climates. Utter_Rube. • 8 mo. ago.
Jul 26, 2022 · Yes, you can mix 5W30 and 0W20 whenever you need to top up your engine oil level and can’t find the right one. However, there are some things to keep in mind. Both oils should be the same brand and the same type (you can read more here about the different oil types). However, if doing an oil change, mixing different oils is not recommended.
Nov 6, 2022 · Can I use 5W-30 instead of 0w20 BMW? No car “requires” 0W-20. It’s a recommendation, not a requirement. 5w30 will be thicker (more viscous). It will offer better projection to bearings and some other wear surfaces at the expense of slightly worse cooling of some other parts and increase oil pressure delay at extremely cold temperatures.

Most engines can run on anything from a 0w20 to a 15w50 technically. I would go for a 5w30. You'll find most 20 grades have a HT/HS of 2.6-2.75; Most 5w30's are around 3.0-3.1. bbhero
Feb 24, 2021 · Until I am shown differently, I am convinced that use of 0W20 is risking long-term engine wear protection. Certainly, the cold temperature qualities of the the 0Wxx is no doubt a very good thing . On "cold start" the less viscous oil should reach the critical lubricated parts faster, and certainly have much better lubricating qualities than an
